Spring Is In The Air! An Update From Our Lead Practitioner
Waking up from our winter slumber, finally, we are starting to feel spring! Walking down the streets of Toronto- I notice myself bouncing around from one smile to the next.
It is incredible, really- the impact that our environment has on our happiness, and our health.
I know I feel like a completely different person when the sun is shining, and the weather is sweet.
This has been a challenging winter for us- one of the coldest and harshest winters we’ve had in a long time.
And on top of this, as I’m sure most of you have noticed the intense weather patterning that is happening globally.
Our bodies are just learning to cope with these drastic shifts- ice storms, humidity, cold drafts etc. Environmental Scientists are telling us now that it is only going to get more challenging.
So what can we do on a personal level- to protect our health & happiness, and not be swayed by every changing wind?
SELF CARE- be easy on yourself! Developing practices that keep you grounded and balanced is the key to staying in check. Practices that train your mind to stay centred- like meditation, mindfulness, yoga, chi gong. Taking baths, walking barefoot in nature. Unwinding and bringing yourself back- again, and again and again.
